ADI Part 2

This course comprises of one-to-one coaching and is designed to develop your skills to the very high standard required in order to successfully pass the test.

The Part 2 ADI Driving Ability Test consists of five areas:

An eyesight check
‘Show me, tell me’ vehicle safety questions (a full list of the questions are available on the DVSA website)
General driving ability (this will take place in varying road and traffic conditions)
Manoeuvres (reversing your vehicle)
You will be asked to do two of the following:
- Parallel park at the side of the road
- Reverse into a parking bay and drive out
- Drive into a parking bay and reverse out
- Pull up on the right-hand side of the road, reverse for around two car lengths, and re-join the traffic.
Independent driving (driving for about 20 minutes by following either directions from a sat nav or traffic signs)

The test lasts for around one hour. You will pass if you accrue no more than 6 driver faults and no serious or dangerous faults.

Having struggled with my training and thinking that I had absolutely no chance of passing my Part 3 I was lucky enough to meet Emily. All of a sudden everything started to make sense and I passed to become an ADI. I genuinely don’t think I would have had a chance without Emily’s training and for that I will be forever appreciative.
